Welcome to Okhlan. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Name and email address (when creating an account)
• Age, biological sex, height, weight, activity level, and nutrition goal
• Custom calorie and macro targets

Information generated through use:

• Food photos you take for nutritional analysis
• Scan history and saved meals
• Daily water intake tracking
• Weight log entries over time
• Saved favourites and meal templates

Technical information:

• Unique user identifier (Firebase UID)
• Anonymous crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
• Daily scan count for rate limiting purposes

3. How We Use Your Information

• To analyze food photos and calculate nutritional values using AI
• To display your daily calorie and macro tracking
• To calculate personalized nutritional targets
• To improve app performance and diagnose issues
• To prevent abuse (50 scan daily limit per user)

4. Third-Party Services

We use only the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase — data storage and user authentication. Firebase Privacy Policy
• Anthropic Claude AI — your food photos are sent to our server (Firebase Cloud Function) which forwards them to Anthropic for nutritional analysis only. Anthropic does not retain your images after analysis.
• Open Food Facts — free public barcode database. Barcode lookups are fully anonymous.
• RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
• Apple App Store — payment processing only.

5. Data Storage and Security

• All data is stored on Google Firebase servers (us-central1)
• The Anthropic API key is stored exclusively in Google Secret Manager — never included in the app binary
• All network connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Each user can only access their own data (Firestore Security Rules)
• Firebase App Check protects against unauthorized access to our servers

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Food photos are not stored after analysis. Meal, weight, and water data is retained in your account until manually deleted or your account is deleted.

7. Your Rights

You have the following rights:

• Access: View all your data within the app
• Deletion: Delete all your data and close your account — directly from the Profile menu in the app (Settings → Delete Account)
• Correction: Update your profile details at any time from the Profile screen
• Export: Contact us for a copy of your data

8. Children's Privacy

This app is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we become aware that such data has been collected, we will delete it immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced within the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
